Looking for love and loyalty? Meet this week’s special pets, Daphne and Goliath.
Cat of the Week: Daphne
Daphne is a four-year-old girl who’s been on quite a journey. She really needs somewhere to live where she can settle in, catch a break and start enjoying life like we know she will.
She’s perfectly healthy now, but Daphne had to shed ringworm on her arrival at our shelter. She was sent into foster care, where she flourished, becoming less shy by the day.
She has learned to love playing with wand toys and is great with kittens. In fact, in her adventures, some kittens escaped their enclosure and all snuggled in with Daphne, which she loved.
She’s still a little shy, and, as shown in the photo, initially needs to be coaxed out of her condo with some cat treats. But you watch, a few weeks in a new home and she’s going to be the love of your life.

Dog of the Week: Goliath
It’s been puppies galore at the shelter in recent months, and this includes Goliath, but we fear that, because of his size, he’s been overlooked.
The big guy is only seven months old and has all the adorable puppy traits like clumsiness, affection and a desire to play, but due to his mix with (probably) a Great Dane, he’s a massive puppy.
A lovable boy, he’s demonstrated a remarkable level of composure; during feeding and walking times when the barking and smells of 30 other dogs are at their peak, our Goliath remains completely chilled out in the sun in his kennel.
Clifford the Big Red Dog grew huge in proportion to how much he was loved and we figure it’s the same with Goliath. Come and let Goliath love you; he’s just so sweet. And large.
Pawnotes: Don’t look now, but the annual Million Paws Walk is coming later this month (25 May) at Patrick White Lawns. More details and tickets available on our website.
