At RSPCA ACT, we have many beautiful animals searching for their perfect forever homes. This week, we’d love for you to get to know Merida, Wombat and Billy.
Dog of the Week: Merida
It simply must be Merida’s turn to find a new home. She’s just so sweet. Our staff and volunteers love her, and we dearly want her to find an owner.
When you meet Merida, she comes across as shy. Very gentle, but unsure. In a short space of time, she’ll develop trust in you, which is when you’ll see her beautiful heart. She literally hugs and chooses you, with a little paw ‘bop’ to say, “I choose you.”
She walks like a dream on a leash and loves her little bunny. So much so that we’ve got a big bag of them, and you can take them with you when you adopt Merida!
Meria is an American Staffordshire Terrier just over two years old. We know she’ll bloom into a perfect family pet, she just needs a chance.

Guinea Pigs of the Week: Wombat and Billy
These two little cuties are great fun. They hang out together sometimes, and other times, they’ll do their own thing. They’re okay to handle together as well, as you can see in the photo.
Wombat (pictured right) is a Peruvian GP and has long, luscious locks to run your fingers through as if he were Fabio. He will need grooming, though; those long hairs can get grubby and knotted.
Billy is the smaller of the two, a bit more shy but also more gentle. He’s an Alpaca GP, so he will also need grooming and care.
Do you have a reasonably large caged area for two fun little besties? Come and meet them and hear their little squeaks; it’s pretty cute.
Pawnotes: Thanks for attending our Open Day last Saturday; it helped with adoptions, as 21 pets found new homes on that one day alone. Alas, we still have plenty more looking for you to adopt.
