Can someone let me know what the deep repetitive rumbles around North Canberra are that started this morning around 5.00am?
It got me up and I am expecting it’s some explosive testing somewhere but it’s a bit disconcerting

It was an ADF training exercise out Majura way – there was a snippet about it in the CT.
Today’s CT had a small note that there was simulated training out at Majura. These were the sound effects. Pretty useless as a way of giving notice.
I’m south side, didn’t hear a thing and slept til my alarm went off at 7.
Lovely.
I woke up at 5am this morning because I thought I heard some strange noises outside. It was a bit weird because I never wake up that early. Got up and wandered around but couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary. I’m northside too.

Sorry about that, it must have been something I ate..

They do, It starts as a school program for when they are 5+. Generally they are given fake tattoos and little leather Ben 10 vests to propogate the biker image just like junkie parents giving their children plungers in the hope that the too will develop a habit one day. This has been proven before on the RA.
Their day starts just like any other kid with a few rousing verses from “Rebel Rebel” by David Bowie and then they have a little poker run on their 3 wheelers around the playground where they hand out toys to the smaller kids. This is done much to the annoyance of little Johnny law, the playground monitor.
Their main rivals for control of they lunchtime sherbert trade is the snack-pack gang who have other ideas about what should be traded on the playground.
You have thought about this far too much, I am killing myself laughing whilst typing by the way.
I have this image of a 4 foot “johnny law” standing in the playground saying “I….am the LAW”

Or it is just the RMC cadets going through the motions at Majura.
The Rebels Motorcycle Club have a cadet program?
Maybe just before 4 if I’ve got my UTC conversion the correct.
It was Defence setting off some explosives for a training exercise. You’d hear it very clearly at Bywong.
While I didn’t hear the rumbles, that would explain why my dog went crazy and tried beating down the door from the lounge about that time.
Maybe its the construction of a Deep Underground Military Base 2 kilometres under Belconnen to safeguard us against the upcoming Zombie/Reptoid apocalypse.
