There were thousands of people here today. Bikes, rooler blades dogs, mms with prams, photographers. And it was cold.

And the parking was free.

the entire airport area is very boring.
Plus, they’ll sting you for parking. You pay for parking here 7 days a week. And you wanna beleive they’ll have the parking inspectors out.

The Airport under private ownership has taken great pains, from the very outset, to cultivate good relations with the public. They do a newsletter for residents and businesses nearby, and do a lot of two way communication.

Their campaign to stop Qbn and ACT developments under the approach path were to head off problems down the track, both to stop the developments, but also to ensure that EVERYONE knew those areas were under flight paths.

Notice they’ve bunged in a lot more red flashing lights on that low range just east of the runways.

It would be fun to go have a closer look at all those big earth machines, they seem to have heaps of them there. Imagine they paid a premium to have the job done quickly.
