A 28-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today on multiple charges after a brief police pursuit on Northbourne Avenue in Turner last night.

ACT Policing said that just after 10 pm, the man was allegedly riding a black Kymco scooter erratically and at speed along Northbourne Avenue.

They said that in his alleged attempt to evade police, the man hit the gutter and fell from the scooter.

”After a violent struggle with police, the man was taken into custody and transported to the ACT Watch House,” police said.

The man is charged with aggravated furious/reckless/dangerous driving, driving with alcohol in blood, driving while disqualified, riding a motor vehicle without consent, destroying/damaging property and resisting a Territory public official.
