I was wrong to support ETS: Humphries
Is this more evidence of a swing to the coalition position ?

Didn’t even notice the What Women Want Party, and I vote below the line! But we should have more parties named after Mel Gibson films. I look forward to the next election to see if they have been renamed “The Beaver”
I should have said “enough people were discouraged enough to NOT give Tucker their first vote …”. The Greens ticket looked like this:
ACT Group C – The Greens
Preferences Candidate Party
1 TUCKER Kerrie Greens
2 KIRSCHBAUM Elena Greens
3 DAVIDSON Emma What Women Want
4 MORRIS Shannon What Women Want
5 FULLAM-STONE Michael Climate Change Coalition
6 GEE Andrew M Climate Change Coalition
7 VOGT Norvan Australian Democrats
8 DAVID Anthony Australian Democrats
9 DENBOROUGH Michael Nuclear Disarmament Party
10 DENBOROUGH Erica Nuclear Disarmament Party
11 LUNDY Kate Labor Party
12 CONWAY Peter Labor Party
13 MILAT Lisa Liberty and Democracy Party
14 TEXTOR Chris Liberty and Democracy Party
15 MYERS Jacqui Liberal Party
16 HUMPHRIES Gary Liberal Party
What I meant was: the Greens put Labor well down on Tucker’s ‘How to Vote’ card and because of this enough people were discouraged enough to give Tucker their first vote that Humphries managed to squeeze in.

Quite the contrary I would have thought. Gary dropped a lot of hints previously about the secret discussion he had with Tony Abbott and his ‘package’, and now it’s amounted to nought.

Please no talk about Abbott’s ‘package’, the speedos were bad enough
Any chance you could please spell out what you mean with numbers Fluges ?
I thought GH was elected by a whisker without the need for prefs.
Am I reading that wrong ?
I am puzzled what it is you think KT/Greens have done or not done when you say, “..if the ACT Greens had distributed their preferences properly.”
Thanks.
While he does have to toe the party line, this is rather pathetic. I hope that he’s privately embarrassed.
It is Humphries who swings in the breeze, not the executive of the Labor Party. We need someone who stands up for the ACT, not the party machine.
Humphries would have lost the last election if the ACT Greens had distributed their preferences properly. Kerry Tucker really blew it. If she had been elected, Fielding would be irrelevant.
Gary would have to be on the shakiest ground for an upset outcome wouldn’t he?
Especially since Barnaby Rubble’s wise words yesterday

The ACT is not served well by these safe seats – surely it’s time the electorate said enough, and rocked the boat a bit? Gary would have to be on the shakiest ground for an upset outcome wouldn’t he?
If the liberals were going to lose their ACT senate seat it would have happened in 07 (to the greens).
When Gary falls, it’ll be in a pre-selection, not an election.
They could use his expertise at the BoM. Hang his skinny a.se from a pole and use him as a political windsock.

Not sure what the problem is. Next you’ll be saying there is something wrong with Julie Bishop’s full support of Brendan Nelson, oops I meant Malcolm Turnbull, sorry, I meant Tony Abbott
Ha ha, very good. From what I have heard and seen (radio, press and Parliament) the new regime is presenting a ‘united front’. No chance of seeing what’s doing behind closed doors though, but for all intents and purposes the Liberals all no w speak with one voice….Tony’s

He was never going to cross the floor on this issue, and he’s merely been forced to concede same.

What do you mean – are you making an issue out of him supporting his party’s position? Leaving aside the debate about climate change, I thought what Humphries said was entirely appropriate.
