Years ago, we were among the first people to move into Scullin. The school hadn’t opened, so I was at first grade in the Page Primary School. One day it started snowing and all us kids were looking out the window and getting all excited. The teacher got angry and said: “anyone would think you’ve never seen snow before.” Well durrr – we were 5 years old!
Public Servants + FNQ Hicks = (shudder)
I love the weather but Cairns is all a bit touristy and bumpkin-esque.
How about the Government purchases an island off the coast of FNQ just for the Public Servants? Would be full of cardigans, Camrys and long lunches in no time at all!
The weatherman yesterday mentioned that it was possible that it could snow in melbs CBD…. which would be insane…. Mael – I have often had that thought – as mentioned in previous posts I would like the refurbishment of civic to include massive heaters and other devices which would turn the place into a tropical paradise (everyday 40c+ now that gets my boat rocking…….
I propose that the entire Australian Public Service moves to Cairns or some other temperate place so that we can all move from this forsaken open freezer.
Yes…but only in bits of Melbourne..& not much..certainly not in the CBD.
Get the pics from Canberra going again. I havnn’t seen one of those for a while.

Just,
Took them on my film camera, but when they are processed I’ll scan them in and post them for your viewing preasure.
Google Earth tells me that Tidbinbilla Range is the big daddy to the right of Mount Stromlo, when looking south. It always has dark clouds touching the tip in a most ominous fashion.
DAMN! I should have stopped to get a shot.
Hopefully theres still some white this afternoon, as the mountains always look better going home rather than heading in to work.
Can you post up some pics? I’ve a friend in Melbourne who wants to see them…she’s never seen snow!
Got one of the Brindies this morning. Mt Taylor had little spots, as did Mt Arrawang and the Hills behind looked great.
I also want to add that on the long haul down to Tuggeranong from the city last night I was so surprised and stoked to see no f*ckwittery on the roads.
Is there a change in the air?
Gots me some snow in the back yard and the front yard. Wanted to get a photo of the Brindabellas this morning but didn’t feel like pulling over, I was having a really good run. Couldn’t see enough white there to warrant it anyway.
Gungahlin had good snow overnight. This morning it was on the rooves, cars, some on the ground and plenty on the hills.
I just went out and its freakin FREEZIN . . .yeah its not -39 like Canadians like it but its bloody cold enough
It was snowing so much in Calwell. I was pretty much covered in snow. some of it stayed on the ground. but i went inside, for like 15mins, and then it was all gone. damm it.
I so wanted a snow day at school though 😀
Well i’m sure the canuck will be impressed when we get a blood rain in summer.
As it is I never thought i’d be so happy to see traffic moving very slowly along parkes way.
went for a quick walk in the snow, it’s a novel feeling all that stuff whirling around.
It was heavy a while ago at southside, Lanyon. Stopped now.
it’s snowin’ in Dickson agin!
Children are cryin’ and fish lay dyin’ in the gutters…. Oh the humanity…. the humanity!!!
Oh C’mon AD! It would have given us something to look at! Nothing cool EVER happens in the front courtyard!
I can confirm the Snow sighting on the corner of Mort & Bunda, it comes in waves but pretty much melts when it hits the ground. ActewAGL has a pretty good mesure of how cold it feels out in civic currently:
It snowed pretty big time in hellconen… i wanted to go out and eat it and/or piss on it….. but that would have looked largely unprofessional : )
flurries in belco.
its quite pretty.
hope i can ski in to work tomorrow. now that would be cool!
confirm alleged sighting of snow, corner mort and bunda st.
confirm sighting of iresponsible public servant cavorting on the road letting the snow fall on me.
there wasn’t much though, and yep melting pretty much as it hit the ground.
was cool though
yep, very light sprinkling of snow in Barton. Melting as soon as it hit the ground.
