Speedway smash

A teenage girl has been injured today in a motorsport accident at Majura.

The ACT Ambulance Service and ACT Fire & Rescue were called to the Majura Speedway on Pialligo Avenue at 11:16am.

The arrived to find a 16 year old girl trapped in the wreckage of a racing car. Firefighters had to cut a protective cage and roll bar of the vehicle to get her free.

She was stablised on scene by intensive care paramedics then rushed to The Canberra Hospital in a serious condition with suspected spinal injuries.
