ACT Policing has arrested a 25-year-old Downer man following a disturbance in Civic earlier this morning (Saturday, April 20).
Around 3.40am police were called to East Row, Canberra City following reports of a violent altercation involving a group of five persons.
When police arrived and intervened the alleged offender spat and struck a police officer.
The man was then arrested and transported to the ACT Watch House. He will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday, May 2 charged with common assault and fighting in a public place.
