Summary of Cabinet Outcomes ever more useless

It’s been a satisfying journey watching the evolution of Chief Minister Gallagher’s “Summary of Cabinet Outcomes” innovation.

The bureaucracy having no short-term interest in transparency at all they’ve carefully trimmed these documents back over the last year until we reach the minimalist perfection of the week commencing 15 May which contains no outcomes whatsoever.

A few months ago the committee process reporting became a waste of space, but kafkaesque refinement with “outcomes” like this:

Budget Committee of Cabinet meetings were held. Treasury officials joined with Ministers to discuss matters of fiscal significance.

But now they seem to have managed to announce appointments without mentioning who has actually been appointed.

Bravo Sir Humphrey, Bravo!
