ACT Policing has arrested a 21-year-old Banks man following the aggravated robbery of a taxi driver last night (Sunday, October 23) in Canberra’s south.
About 6.00pm a taxi driver drove the alleged offender to an address in Gordon. When the taxi driver asked for payment for the fare, the alleged offender told the driver he was not going to pay and that he was in possession of a knife.
The victim then proceeded to drive to the Tuggeranong Police Station. During the drive to the station, the alleged offender held a knife to the victim and told him he was not going to pay for the fare.
The victim arrived at the Tuggeranong Police Station where the alleged offender was arrested. He was taken to the ACT Watch House and will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court this morning charged with aggravated robbery.
