Four teens aged 14 and 15 have been charged after two cars were allegedly stolen, and one was crashed over the weekend.

At about 11:30 pm on Sunday (13 April), police patrolling Weetangera saw a Hyundai Tuscon SUV that had previously been reported as stolen.

The vehicle was travelling at high speed on Schumack Street, and as it approached Springvale Drive, tyre deflation devices were deployed.

The SUV failed to take the next turn, hitting a traffic island and a sign. A teenage boy allegedly fled the vehicle, but police arrested him soon after near Belconnen Way.

The 14-year-old was charged with breach of bail and riding/driving in a motor vehicle without consent.
