Thanks MERC, and yep, it was a bit of a slog for me- pedometer showed over 20K steps, took me almost 2.5 hours to the top with some photo stops,and 1.5 down again, not dawdling either. Unfortunately this was probably the best shot I got (taken under the fire spotting tower), and I wasn’t particularly happy with it until I saw what my good Wife did with it in Photoshop. Original was too blue and washed out with the haze. Also worth mentioning that I started in the Namadgi Visitors Centre carpark and don’t know of anywhere closer to park to avoid the climb for that time.
This weekend I intend to climb a smaller peak which I haven’t found the name of yet, weather permitting. I’ll try and gauge the lighting for some more dramatic shots this time.
