ACT Policing are calling for witnesses to burglaries and motor vehicle thefts in Bonython and Forrest this morning, Sunday 17 June.
About 1am this morning, a Silver Mercedes C250 bearing NSW registration BQ89NZ was stolen during a residential burglary in Bonython.
The vehicle was sighted by police shortly after and a brief pursuit ensued. The pursuit was terminated almost immediately due to the vehicle being driven by the offender at very high speed.
Between 12.45am and 6.30am a Silver Audi TT Sedan bearing ACT registration YHV92M was stolen during a residential burglary in Forest ACT.
It is not certain if the two incidents are linked. Both vehicles are still outstanding and police urge people not to approach them.
Anyone who may be able to assist with the investigations are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
