ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery in Monash last night (Friday, May 6) in which an 18-year-old man was assaulted and had his mobile phone stolen.
The victim had been waiting at a bus stop on Clive Steele Avenue in Monash last night around 10.30pm when a dark-coloured ute stopped alongside him.
After a brief verbal exchange, a male in the front passenger’s seat of the ute got out of the car, punched the victim, and demanded his phone. The victim complied, and the offenders drove off in the direction of Harricks Street.
The offender is described as Caucasian, with a slim build, about 5’10” tall (178cm), with blond, shoulder-length hair and a gaunt face. He was wearing a grey-white cap and a grey long-sleeved jumper.
Police conducted a door knock of the surrounding area but were unable to obtain further details.
Anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident and may have seen the offence or could assist in identifying the vehicle and the offenders is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
