Well this heavy rain hasn’t come from anywhere in particular, the weather radar shows is coming up out of nowhere right above us.

I was at the Jamison shopping centre when the rumbling started. It was like the scene from The Witches of Eastwick . Where the School headmaster was giving that ever so boring speech while a storm was brewing.
At Jamison, every time there was a loud rumble every one stopped and looked up at the ominous dark clouds developing over head..
I got hailed on while riding my bike through ANU around 3pm. Out of nowhere.
Out at Mitchell we have rain pouring from Gungahlin Drive way, but sunny over Flemington Road & 5-10 cracks of thunder, that was around 16:00 & after an hour or two of nothing a short shower came up again at 18:00 (that was not long after my boss said god loves Harley riders & stopped the rain for his ride home).

Spot on JB.
3:25pm. Heard the rumbling, checked the BOM site to see that their 11:XXam forecast still did not indicate showers….
Come 3:35pm, checked said site and… goddamit! Rain on the way.
Not happy as I’d cycled in to work without any rain protection gear, on the advice by BOM that chances of rain was negligible.
It’s not the first time that any weather forecast got it wrong, but my soaked crotch (riding my bike home) was definitely not appreciative of the circumstance. I think from now on I’ll always have my crotch-guard (aka mud-guard) with me.
Heard the thunder, but was surprised to see rain on my car when I left work (Fyshwick). Looks like there’s been quite a bit of rain at home (inner north).
living just under Mt Stromlo its lots of noise been seeing it come in all afternoon looks big.
Sitting here in Barton watching it build all afternoon. We’re getting bugger all rain, though.
