Trailer park fire

Firefighters have extinguished a fire inside a home at the Narrabundah Long Stay Caravan Park.

ACT Fire & Rescue were alerted to the incident at 8:12 tonight and responded with three fire pumpers, breathing apparatus support crew and HAZMAT unit.

The fire was quickly put out and prevented from spreading to adjoining properties.

A search confirmed no one was home at the time.

The initial estimated damage bill is $100,000.

The cause will be investigated.

ACT Policing is investigating a fire which occurred in Symonston last night (Tuesday, September 3).

Around 8.20pm last night police were called to a fire inside a home at the Narrabundah Long Stay Caravan Park.

ACT Fire and Rescue were already on the scene and quickly contained the blaze. No one was home at the time of the incident.

Investigations will continue to determine the cause of the fire.

Police are urging anyone who was in the area last night and saw anyone acting suspiciously to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
