ACT Fire Brigade and ACT Rural Fire Service on scene at a grass fire between Brindabella Road and Uriarra Road.

Fire is approx 1km north of Uriarra Settlement.

The estimated size of the grass fire is 400 metres x 100 metres.

No structures in danger.

Crews getting to work.

Update on grass fire between Brindabella Road and Uriarra Road.

ACT Fire Brigade and ACT Rural Service working to extinguish the fire which is approx 20 hectares in size.

Fire is 60 per-cent contained.

No structures in danger. Update to follow.

Update two on grass fire between Brindabella Road and Uriarra Road. Fire is 95 per-cent contained and fire crews starting to conduct mop operations.

Update three on grass fire between Brindabella Road and Uriarra Road. Fire has been 100 per-cent contained.

Mop up operations continuing.

Multiple resources responded. Six appliances from the ACT Fire Brigade as well as six tankers, three light units and three command vehicles from the ACT Rural Fire Service.

Time of Emergency Triple Zero (000) call 11.07am.

Cause of fire from workman using welding equipment in a paddock.

Update four on grass fire between Brindabella Road and Uriarra Road. Mop up operations still continuing.

ACT Fire Brigade has departed the scene and some ACT Rural Fire Service resources also departing the scene.

Update five on grass fire between Brindabella Road and Uriarra Road. Fire has been extinguished.

All ACT Rural Fire Service units have departed the scene.
