Police radar allegedly detected the sedan travelling at 198km/h in a 90km/h zone.

Screening tests revealed the 19-year-old driver, who held an ACT provisional licence, was not impaired by drugs or alcohol.

When asked about his extreme speed, the man allegedly told officers he was just “being silly”.

His younger brother was also in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

The Honda Legend sedan was seized and the teen was issued with an immediate suspension notice, suspending his ACT driver’s licence for 180 days. Further action to his dangerous driving will be taken.

This just shows the amount of respect that some people have for others. It’s beyond pathetic to read this. It’s about time everyone slows down. The death toll from last year is staggering. But what about those who were injured? No stats on these people

Car should be crushed and this man should be banned for life. Give him a bus ticket
