ACT Policing is appealing for witnesses to an aggravated robbery in Richardson last night (Friday, April 6).
About 10.50 pm an 18-year-old man was walking home along Clift Cresent and was approached by a black Mazda 6 travelling in an easterly direction towards Heagney Crescent.
The victim flagged down the vehicle to ask for a lift. At the same time the vehicle stopped, the victim received a phone call and while on the phone, the passenger of the vehicle reached out of the window and took the phone. The driver then drove away.
The victim then held on to the passenger window frame as the driver drove away at low speed for approximately 15-20 metres before letting go. The vehicle then fled the area.
The passenger of the vehicle is described as Asian in appearance with short dark hair and a significant portion of his left arm was covered in tattoos. He was wearing a grey singlet.
The victim was transported to The Canberra Hospital where he received treatment for minor injuries.
Anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
