Deborah has sent in this picture of the Canberra Times fountain a luminous green.
Anyone know why?

Maybe it was the aliens from this post http://region.com.au/?p=32197
That’s exactly what I was thinking. It is stage two of their plan to invade the city.

I walked by the fountain this morning. It has been drained and there was a truck there. I think that they were about to replenish it with fresh water.
Gee, I wonder what will happen next! 😛

Spoiled sports, I ate 48 KGs of Asparagus to get that effect.

It’ll just be fluorescein (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluorescein), pretty much non-toxic, and a little bit goes a loooong way.
Hahaha, Gold.
I bet you it’s colour dye used in pc water cooling. No amount of radiotor fluid can get it that green.
I thought it looked the same vile colour as it always does…
I think it’s just the lighting that has changed.
Too many energy drinks partying into the wee hours a the Christmas parties!

It’s Reptoid breeding season?
Clearly it is the woodstock drink equivalent from boy reptoids to get girl reptoids hammered and to have their nefarious way with them.
Plumber’s dye, used to easily check to see if their are leaks in pipes and fittings. I’ve got some of the powder, and the amount in the fountain would only have to be a film canister full at most. Fun stuff.
Yeah, my guess is radiator coolant, a.k.a. “Antifreeze”. It’s too bright to just be a jug or two of Cottee’s.

Well, we wouldn’t want it to freeze or boil, would we…?

‘Predator’ got hammered last night and took a leak in it.
thumbs up for that one 🙂
A long time ago, I worked at the ANU. We had a laser dye that looked really similar to that…. It was used in some really big lasers.
It was as carcinogenic as anything.. I wonder???
Looks better than the usual foam prank.
Was just about to send in a pic myself.
