The Bureau has given notice that a cold front is inbound and expected to bring wild winds:

A cold front will cross southeast NSW Friday morning with gale-force winds expected for higher parts of the Snowy Mountains and possible for higher parts (mostly above 1000 metres) of the remaining southeastern districts.

Damaging winds around 65 km/h with peak gusts of 100 km/h are forecast for the Snowy Mountains forecast district and possibly for higher parts of the Illawarra, South Coast, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands and Australian Capital Territory forecast districts Friday morning. The Alpine Peaks may experience further winds of 70 km/h with peak gusts around 120 km/h.
