
Police are calling for witnesses to come forward after a woman was seriously assaulted in a quiet street in Canberra’s inner north on Sunday (9 June).
Around 6 pm, a 20-year-old woman was walking along Tate Street towards the O’Connor shops when she was attacked by two men who dragged her into a nearby street.
A Caucasian man aged in his 20s physically assaulted the woman while the second man, who is also described as Caucasian and in his 20s, fled the scene before the assault.
After the assault, the first man ran towards Tate Street and continued on to either Westgarth or Robinson Street.
The first man was described as over six feet tall, of slim build, clean shaven and having blonde, shoulder length hair sticking out of his beanie. He was wearing a dark-coloured beanie, woollen gloves, a top and pants.
The second man was shorter than the other man, with a heavy build and was wearing a dark beanie, dark clothing and possibly a ski jacket.
