Hurrah!
I made the 1500km, 15 hour+ round trip in a car with 3 others to watch the grand final in Dandenong. It was brilliant to see them win and cheer them on – especially as the Caps fans contingent made up less than 10% of the crowd! I blew my horn until it could toot no more by the final siren – much to the changrin of the Dandenong supports sitting nearby 😉
LET’S GO CAPITALS FOR THE 2006-07 SEASON!!!
By the way, I thought the other team’s Dandenong-Ranges/Rangers/green/nature/trees/national-park type theme was very cool. But I’m glad they lost.
My partner went to school with the captain, Eleanor Sharp. We watched the final on TV on the weekend and she said Ms Sharp looks exactly the same as she did in high school some ten years ago. She then said ‘lucky bitch’ 🙂 But we were both cheering for them, and Eleanor gave a very nice acceptance speech. Congratulations girls!
Good on ’em. I saw this mob at the airport leaving for one of their games and they were a credit to Canberra – lets see Graf stay and hope the big L returns after a 3 year stint making her money. The Caps could dominate the women’s game for the next decade.
