From what i understand – In NZ, all political signs have to be removed by 6pm the day of the election.

Oddly enough, when I voted on Saturday morning, around 10am, there was little advertising material of any persuasion around the polling place closest to me (Scout Hall, Hovea St, O’Connor). But after going out for the day and coming home just as polls were closing I noticed there was quite a lot of Liberal material remaining (anyone else like the small L Liberal in “Canberraliberals”, haha).

That wasn’t so bad, but it is still there now. The remaining material is long lengths of plastic banner like signage that is wrapped around trees near the Scout Hall, and, more offensively, all around the St Jospeh’s Church fencing across the road.

The only ones left in my street this morning were from the “do as I say” party. The watermelons. The wooden stakes will be put on the fire next winter to combat global cooling.
