So sad. The man the story focussed on has survived (and more) but you wonder how many people are still driven to suicide by this rubbish.

Well, that’s the nub of it really. If these nutjobbies are proposing the idea that homosexuality can be “cured”, then surely it would be just as true that heterosexuality or any other preference could also be cured in a similar manner if someone were to try it.

But I’m straight, and I reckon that there is absolutely zero likelihood that my sexual orientation could be changed. It’s as much a part of me as the colour of my eyes. I’m pretty sure that most gay people feel the same way. They didn’t choose to be the way they are, and it’s not an affliction or illness. It just is what it is.
