Does anyone have any experience with pet sitting services in the ACT? I mean companies that come to your home and feed your pet, collect your mail, etc. There seem to be quite a few out there and I don’t know which one to choose.
Thanks

I’ll look after your dog. How friendly is he? Would he be able to fight another dog if they were both put in a ring? Just wondering.
Also can you pay me the money up front, straight cash? I need it to enter in a contest.
CH, I recommend that you find a neighbor’s responsible older teenager/young adult and offer them a small fee (maybe $20.00 a night)to stay in your house while you are away; it is a win-win situation. Your pets are in a familiar environment, you have somebody looking after your house, the teenagers get to escape their parents and they are usually happy to be paid less money than a formal pet-sitter. Plus, they are close to home if things go awry and they get to know your house and pet routine. Maybe pop some notices in a few letterboxes in your street, asking for help?
I have used Pet Sitter (www.petsitter.com.au) for a number of years – I highly recommend them (they collect your mail, bring in the bin etc as well) – they do all of Canberra but you do need to book well in advance during holiday season
Thanks for the suggestions. I’m on the northside. I usually use the services of my friends and neighbour. However I’ve been out of town a lot lately and this will continue for the rest of the year and I don’t want to wear out their generosity.
Make that Marilynne – I should really stop trying to do too many things at once!

I can highly recommend Katherine, she is extremely reliable and honest.

You mean you aren’t friends with even one of your neighbours?
We just get ours to look after our pets when we are away and do the same for her. It’s much cheaper.
