Well Lent has begun, but RiotACT has been described as a godless site so no reason for us to stay home.
What fun is there to be had this weekend while the good Catholics stay home I ask you?

Do the do Peter Jackson’s feebles count as muppets or is that blasphemy
Thumper, I would like to join.
Mael: Happy birthday my love. I hope it is a truly fabulous weekend!
Since it’s clean up Australia day on sunday, i wonder if they’ll be scooping the fireworks ash out of the lake ?
I too heard a rumour Skyfire is on this weekend. Though shouldn’t we have gotten some booklet telling us about all the fabulous events happening for the Canberra Festival, which I always thought skyfire was part of?
Also, I remembered the other thing on this Sunday which I forgot earlier. I’m not sure it was worth remembering though — Clean Up Australia Day. Also the Hall markets are on.
The Jewish centre in forest is having a food and general open-kinda day. So come and fill up on Gefilte fish, Canedelach, and whatever else is kosher. I’m guessing pork sausage sandwiches are out?
Friday 3rd March
Rumour has it that a gang of psychopathic alcoholic banjophile fools, going by the questionable name of Slim Pickens and Round John Virgin, will be taking over a table at the Phoenix and boring the customers drunk with the same old crap for a couple of hours. 5-7 PM, free.
Happy Birthday Maelinar! 🙂
I’m marching in Mardi Gras in the Cross Campus Queer Students Network float.
The slogan is F**k VSU: Still loud, still proud with a theme of 60s, 70s and 80s activism.
The costuming should be very interesting and I’m sure the nature of the event will be truly mindblowing.
Back in Canberra…isn’t Skyfire 18 on?
Saturday: ANU Magical Girl club [anime] screening, 12-3 @ the Haydon-Allen Tank.
This Sunday (March 5) have a peek at how our nobility live with an open day at Government House. There’s also signs beside the road for something else on the Sunday but it temporarily escapes me.
And of course a Brumbies game Friday night (how could you forget, JB?).
STOMP 5 – Hollywood Stomp is a charity fundraising dance on at the Italo-Australia Club on Saturday night. Featuring the Radium Club Hepsters from Sydney, tickets $15. more info here.
