ACT Policing said that just after 3 am, police responded to a report from ACT Fire and Rescue of a residence alight on Antill Street.

Neighbours had raised the alarm after being woken by the sound of falling roof tiles.

ACT Fire and Rescue took more than three hours to extinguish the fire in the brick house, which police said was unoccupied at the time.

After inspecting the scene, police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire.

Police are asking that anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or have information about the fire, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the Crime Stoppers website.
