ACT Policing has arrested the drivers of two vehicles involved in separate pursuits today (Wednesday, December 22).
In the first pursuit, police were searching for a black Audi Q7 which was stolen overnight from a house in O’Connor. Officers located the Audi in Blackett Street, Downer around 11:14am in which time a pursuit commenced.
The driver of the Audi stopped the vehicle on Legge Street, Downer and was arrested.
The 13 year-old male driver has been charged with a number of traffic offences and will face court at a later date.
In a separate incident, police attempted to stop a red Ford Falcon on Athllon Drive, Greenway around 11:19am. The Ford Falcon failed to stop for police and a pursuit ensued, travelling along Athllon and Drakeford Drive and Boddington Crescent, Kambah before being terminated by police.
Other police in the area have located the vehicle on Kambah Pool Road and re-engaged the pursuit. The driver has stopped the vehicle at the end of Kambah Pool Road and fled on foot.
The 24-year-old male driver was apprehended after a foot pursuit and conveyed to the ACT Watch House where he was charged with a number of traffic offences, including being an unlicenced driver and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.
The male will face the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday, 23 December 2010.
