To me the trees are like the shadow of death hanging over the scene waiting to swallow up its victims.

The brick wall represents a solid foundation – as in, while some lives are ending, other lives are just beginning.

(Note how the bricks are joined together like two hot chicks being joined in marriage.)

mr evil I would like to point your attention to the background imagery or the sub text if you will.

– the juxtaposition of natural elements and man made elements.

– The trees next to the fence commiserating with their dead fellows the fence pailings…

– The dead trying to reach their natural home in the ground but being obstructed by another man made element – the brick wall.

This tells the deeper story of how man restricts the natural cycle of life and how our constant meddling will only lead to despair and sorrow from which we cannot escape.

Yes, an interesting work indeed. Obviously it’s a commentary on the link between the Federal Govt and the death of so many poor innocents on the SIEV-X.

Notice how the palings are flung outwards and upwards like the arms of struggling, drowning people – whilst the colourbond fence stands silently looking on, while not attempting at all to intervene.

I know this place. Colourbond fencing on the other side of the wooden pailings. End result, no-one can see the fence in its state of disrepair, hence no-one giving a fudge.
