ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a robbery at the La Piazza Restaurant in Grattan Court at the Erindale Shopping Centre on Saturday night (January 29).
Around 10.45pm, a male youth entered the restaurant holding a knife and demanded cash. He was told that there was no cash so he walked behind the counter and stole a bottle of liquor.
The male youth left the area on foot. He was last seen running in the direction of the Erindale Woolworths Caltex Service Station. No one was injured during the incident.
The youth is described as aged between 12-16 years old with dark skin. He was wearing a cream hat, blue or black cricket gloves, blue scarf/bandana over his face and possibly a red T-shirt. He was seen in the area earlier with a group of five to six other males of a similar age.
Anyone who may have witnessed the robbery at the Erindale Shopping Centre on Saturday night, or witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area during that time should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
