ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to two residential burglaries that occurred recently in Palmerston and Red Hill.
On Monday 31 January, a house was burgled in Mount Warning Crescent, Palmerston. A rear window was broken to gain entry to the property. Items taken include a sum of cash, gold jewellery, a camera with a lens kit and a plasma television. The total value of the stolen property was around $23,000.
In late January, a house was burgled in Golden Grove, Red Hill. The owners were away on holidays and the alarm had not been set. The bulk of the items stolen were jewellery, together with a set of house keys. The offender returned to the premises on the morning of Thursday, 27 January and gained entry a second time. This time the alarm was triggered and a pushbike was stolen. The total value of stolen property was estimated at more than $20,000.
Police would urge anyone who may have witnessed either of these incidents or may be able to assist police with their investigations to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
