ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an attempted forced home entry in Gungahlin last night (Sunday, February 6).
Around 9.50pm, a Gungahlin couple were confronted at their front door by two males carrying what appeared to be a firearm and a large knife. The males attempted to force their way into the house, but were pushed out by the couple.
The weapons were not used on the victims during the incident; however the offender carrying the firearm struck the male victim with a single punch to the cheek.
The male offender with the firearm was described as Caucasian, aged in his early 20s, approximately 180cm (5’11”) tall, with a thin build, short blond hair and was wearing a grey coloured hooded jumper.
The second male offender was described as having an Asiatic/Islander appearance, aged in his early 20s, approximately 174 – 178cm (5’8”-5’10”) tall, with a thin build and was wearing a black hooded jumper.
Police ask anyone who was at in the area at that time and may have heard anything or seen people matching the description to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
