I would prefer to leave it there, but that might make it look like I’m avoiding the point then too, so…you did the same thing to rebcart (who is also unaffected by pubhols, which you didn’t know), you ignored qbngeek’s point completely, you ignored the fact that your personal situation doesn’t negate my (or qbngeek’s) points about your original ignorant comment, you got on a pedestal about working pubhols like the trooper you are (when you probably get overtime for doing so anyway, though I won’t assume that), and you ignored the fact that even teenage Coles employees (like myself in years gone by) get Boxing Day off (not just your pet-hate public servants).

Which all goes to say that, as per my original post, your “only Christians should get to take the Easter/Xmas public holidays off” argument is moronic

Well actually I agree with Webcart, and yes I do take the public holidays because, according to my boss, Webber Day, Metal Day, Soundwave weekend and Winter-een-mas are not legitamate holidays.

Let me have the days off that I choose (an equal number of days to the ‘Christian Holidays’) and I will work on those days. I would mush prefer to celebrate Winter-een-mas and have a couple of days to recover from Suandwave then to celebrate Easter which I don’t celebrate anyway.

I’m doing a uni degree, and I’ve finished all my classes for the rest of the year, and I’m doing my research/literature reading at home whether it’s a holiday or not. So, yes. 🙂

I’m happy to take advantage of secular public holidays, but having public holidays for one religion and not all the rest is discriminatory and unfair.

Chocolate eggs, rabbits and _yeasted_ breads have so little to do with passover (the supposed origin of easter) that it wouldn’t matter when they did it.

I hope they keep enough of the choclate around, though, for the poor kids who actually end up in hospital on Sunday.
