Security of tenure also means that its not easy to kick someone out. if the property is found in poor condition they’ve got to send remedy letters before any action can be taken.

I have relatives who are kiwis – they were appalled with the state of the house, but had seen the same sort of squalor in NZ in rentals that they had owned (not maoris but white folk were the tenants) as they said to me earlier today, perhaps she had run out of options in NZ, came to australia for a new start and just couldn’t break free of the original rut she was in. just because she changed country doesn’t mean that she would have changed her personal discipline, hygiene, circle of “friends”.

This afternoon, this woman was been granted bail in the ACT Supreme Court.

She was ordered to stay away from her children and not go within 100 metres of their school. She was also told not to consume illicit drugs, and that she could be subjected to urine analysis. Her mother is flying in from New Zealand (apparently to make sure she abides by the rules).

Ant a spunkrat? Funniest thing I’ve heard all day. 😉

…it is quite possible that she is simply a nasty, useless piece of work who simply doesn’t give a rats about anyone but herself. Of course, i’m not saying this is the case.

She’s just another of the breed where nothing is ever their fault and the rest of Society has to do everthing for her..and when they dont she’s a victim. Her kids need help but not her…

I don’t know the details of the situation but from what the media has reported this woman is needing help on many levels. Its easy to condem this woman when you don’t have all the background information. Call me an optomist but I will reckon she can get herself sorted out if given the right assistance.

It’s interesting how quickly people jump on the mentally unsable bandwagon when it is quite possible that she is simply a nasty, useless piece of work who simply doesn’t give a rats about anyone but herself.

Also wondering how she manages with the housing inspections, because the place was a bloody sess-pit, crap everywhere…I just couldn’t live like that, or have my kids grow up like that.

So from what i can gather she has it in for this family friend that is looking after her two older kids and the night the police showed up her three younger one’s were home alone, bloody hell, this women has five kids….(gee i can add)!!

She doesn’t deserve to be a mother, she’s probably pissed off with the family friend because she’s missing out on centrelink payments for the two older kids, depending on how old they are of course.
I always wonder what must of happened to this lady to for her to end up like this.

Name’s suppressed by the courts so the kids cannot be identified. No address either, I’ve noticed. Although with the pictures they’ve been using on the ABC and the CT, it wouldn’t be all that hard to find…
Poor woman but mad as a cut snake I reckon. Should have been on medication/drug detox earlier, otherwise this whole mess wouldn’t have happened.

Huh. I wore my favourite tracky dacks to shops and things on weekends for years, they’re actually holes with some tracky dack fabric. Marvellous dacks. And then some dreadful old harridan at Manuka (getting out of a range rover) and her friend observed that my trousers had holes. I riposted that all the best trousers have holes, but i was cut to the quick, and the next week visited Lowes in Queanbeyan and got some new trackys ($17 but they turned out to be 12 bucks at the register).

But I still wear my favourite trackys, they still work, the holes don’t affect their performance.

Anyway, the people giving “those looks” are probably looking at the kid and thinking about the baby bonus, rather than the flannelette shirt. Nothing wrong with flannelette shirts, very practical.

Seriously, and this has probably been answered a hundred times, but has Housing ACT given an explanation about the condition of this Ainslie house? Aren’t housing inspections done twice a year?

Also, has the woman’s name been suppressed by the courts, or is it that the media are not allowed to mention her name because there’s kids involved? I suspect it’s the latter but not sure.

I suspect that this womans troubles are either related to mental illness, substance dependency or a combination of both. Better informed minds than mine will no doubt be called upon to help sort this mess out and hopefully the kids are going to get the chance to lead a better life.

As far as single mums go – as a parent I stand in awe of any parent who can get the job done on their own.

I know a few single mums myself – regardless of what they wear, I have nothing but pride for them and their tough tasks – and have plenty of time for them to help with stuff.

Not all bogans are single mums, as not all single mums are bogans…
