Gentech Dyno Day

Was a good day out. Anything that pulls 1604HP is good in my books. Funnily enough, a good mate who turned up in his Alfa 156 GTA had to wait until the end as the dyno day was set up to cater for only RWD cars. Oh well….next time!

Interesting,for a naturally aspirated engine rumoured to have cost $40k.That equates to approx 410 kw at the flywheel. Given $40k i could put together a naturally aspirated 450 ci small block running a single carby and pump out approx 600 kw at the flywheel which would equate to about 450-480 rwkw

I am aware of half a dozen or so individuals/workshops in this town who could produce these (dare I say medicore) numbers every day.

A major reason for my interest in a motor racing precinct locally. There are some local geniuses when it comes to performance modifications, but the pollies have decided that they cause noise, rather than look at the economic benefits. I have seen comments in Aust wide car magazines which appreciate the local automotive engineering talent.

I would welcome a local track/workshop area/technical development site where all these brains can be concentrated. I would be there in a flash.

I smell a chequebook mechanic. People who turn up to [insert performance workshop] with an open wallet and say “make it fast” deserve what they get, IMO.

Wow, $15k … makes the mind boggle at how much good looking rims would cost.
