A new special on the menu at Red Chilli Cafe… “Lived Abalone”
Certainly good to know they were alive once.

I lived abalone once. Now I’m just a shell of my former self.
But nice and shiny.
I always thought you were a Pearl and your mothers name was Nacre….
Sounds like you guys are talking a whole lotta baloney.
I’ll take that with a grain of salt (struggling here..)
Sounds like you’re scraping the bottom of the pork barrel!
The election was last week end…
Such fabulous huitre! (There should be an accent perched like an angular shell above the i, but my iPad won’t allow it.).
Warning: Pun only works with basic knowledge of French pronunciation.
Another pearler of a post and at no stage did pork hunt make a pig of himself 🙂
reminds me of how oysters were the only seafood the British poor could afford to eat in the beginning of the 20th century..

They’re actually offering abalone? I thought it was all exported to Asia. The outrageous price indicates a false shortage caused by the mass exporting. I remember every Friday night as a kid having dinner at my late father’s seafood restaurant in the early 1970s. Abalone dinners were really cheap back then – Dad used to give it to us for free 😀
Most upper market Chinese paces have it, but yeah it’s priced out the ass.
I myself ave never tasted it as I would like to but believe its unethical due to the decreased stocks.
