God bless my eyesight and oversight. The support for this gig is the truly wonderful Gerry Doyle, superb Irish singer/songwriter who does originals plus masterful interpretations of other people’s work.

Not actually at the weekend, but I heard somewhere that Herman’s Hermits are playing at Casino Canberra on Monday and Tuesday nights.

Quostatus, I’ve never seen Split Decision, but their posters gave me a chuckle – one of the best cover bands in Florey eh?

Split Decision at the Pot Belly in Belconnen, Friday night, 9.30 – 12.30. Not your ordinary covers band!

Also, at the Merry Muse on Friday 12 September, Simone and Sophie Penkethman and Chanel Cole.

Three original styles combine for a rich and rare evening of song. Chanel Cole is best known as the classy, quirky Australian Idol finalist of 2005.

Simone Penkethman is the passionate, guitar-slinging front woman of long-standing local group, Simone and the Soothsayers. Her daughter, Sophie is a formidable young multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. Accompanying each other with piano, bass and guitar, they’ll share both stage and songs.
