ACT Policing is seeking to identify a member of the public who intervened to help a woman being assaulted at the City bus interchange last week.
Around 4.30pm last Friday (November 23), police received reports that a 41-year-old woman was being assaulted by a man and woman at the corner of City Walk and Mort Street.
A member of the public intervened to help the woman, and she was taken to The Canberra Hospital for treatment of injuries to her jaw.
Police executed a search warrant at a house in Ngunnawal yesterday afternoon (Thursday, November 29) and seized items of clothing.
A 26-year-old man and 28-year-old woman were arrested at 12.50pm yesterday at Jabanungga Avenue in Ngunnawal and were taken to the ACT Watch House, where they were charged with assault.
They both received Watch House bail and are expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court on December 11.
Police would like to speak with the person who intervened to help the woman and are asking them to contact City Police Station on 6256 7777.
