The Canberra property industry turned out in their finest to recognise some of its best talent at Property Council ACT’s biggest night of the year, the People in Property Awards Gala.
Hundreds of industry pros gathered for the black-tie event recognising outstanding people in the field held at the National Arboretum.
Property Council ACT & Capital Region Executive Director Ashlee Berry says that the people acknowledged on the night are helping to build a stronger city.
“These awards are about celebrating the people behind the projects – the visionaries, the leaders, the collaborators driving Canberra forward,” Ms Berry said.
“Tonight’s winners reflect the diversity and strength of our industry – from rising stars through to long-standing leaders who have helped shape the city we know today.”
The 2025 People in Property Awards covered seven categories, including the Allan Wylucki Leadership Award for principled, long-standing leadership that has built a legacy of development with ethics at the centre, awarded to Vince Whiteside of Village Building Company.
“It is a great honour to receive this prestigious award,” Mr Whiteside said.
“Over recent years, we have been subjected to the COVID pandemic, periods of significant wet weather, high interest rates, escalating construction costs, a market correction and ever-increasing government bureaucracy.
“I have been with The Village Building Company for 32 of its 37 years and have had the privilege of leading the company as its CEO for the last five years.
“We have a great team at Village, and I would like to thank all of my staff for their support, hard work and commitment to the company.”

Team of the Year was awarded to JLL Canberra, recognised for redefining workplace design with a focus on sustainability, flexibility and wellbeing, while the Rising Star Award went to DOMA’s Nadia Hight, recognised for redefining workplace design with a focus on sustainability, flexibility and wellbeing
Ms Berry said the winners were a powerful reminder of the industry’s role in shaping Canberra’s future.
“Whether it’s creating inclusive workplaces, mentoring the next generation, or delivering sustainable and community-focused developments, these award winners embody the values that make our sector strong,” she said.
