Dancing Qeens, 2020, by Lynn Petersen.
Explore wet felting with artist and educator Lynn Petersen in a friendly environment of like-minded makers at Tuggeranong Arts Centre. Lynn will teach techniques according to participant interest and experience, guiding you through methods of making ‘nuno’ felt, finger puppets, flowers, vessels and more.
Learn how to make flat felt using wet-felting techniques – OR – refine your technique to improve the quality of your feltmaking. Find out what it means when we say something is ‘fully felted’.
Learn how to use resists to make 3D objects. Discover how to cover objects with felt with no sewing. Experiment with colour blending and use of prefelts. Have a go at making a piece of nuno felt (silk fabric and wool). Embellish your work with needle felting and stitching.
You will make a series of quirky small scale projects. You can choose to make several of one project or one of each depending on your interests.
Work at your own pace. During the sessions there will be some group instruction plus time for individual guidance. If you wish, complete projects at home in between sessions and bring in your pieces to share with the class.
All materials and equipment supplied. Beginners and intermediate makers are welcome.
