Looking for love, loyalty and a new family member? Meet this week’s special pets, Lachie the puppy and Bastet the domestic medium hair.
Puppy of the Week: Lachie
This little guy is something special, he’s such a wonderful pup with a marvellous temperament. Even though he’s now three months old and growing, he’s still a delight to pick up and give a snuggle to.
We think Lachie would do best in a home with an existing dog to play with. All pups need basic training, of course, and Lachie is super sweet and gentle in nature, but another doggy friend to play with would be terrific.
He’s an intelligent little fellow who’ll quickly learn lots of tricks and he’ll respond respectfully to you teaching him the rules of the house.
Truly, 2025 could be renamed ‘Year of the Puppy’ as far as we’re concerned, but Lachie (and his siblings – now adopted) are among the sweetest pups we’ve seen.

Bastet would prefer to be the only cat in your life. Photo: RSPCA ACT.
Cat of the Week: Bastet
This little charmer is one of our most recent favourites because of her sweet, friendly nature, he lovely meows and … go with us here … her adorable, short little legs.
Yes, she’s got shorter legs than usual (nothing too dramatic), but it all adds up to a unique little girl who’s looking for your company and someone to talk to.
Her only thing is that she needs to be the only cat in the home. Hey, what can we say, some cats like other cats (or learn to accept them) and some, like Bastet, just don’t.
For a wonderful house cat who’ll love your company and equally appreciate some alone time with peace and quiet, this is your girl. Bastet is the girl for you!
