ACT Policing General Duties officers attending a domestic dispute at a residence in Evatt late last night (Tuesday, 15 January) have seized 35 cannabis plants found growing in the backyard of the home.
Police were called to the residence around 10.25pm after reports that the 38-year-old male resident had allegedly been assaulted by his former partner.
After entering the property, police observed a number of well-developed cannabis plants in the man’s backyard.
A search warrant was obtained for the residence, in which police seized 35 cannabis plants, ranging from seedlings to well-developed plants, in the backyard. A small-scale hydroponic set-up was found in a garden shed and a quantity of dried cannabis inside the house.
The resident of the property will be summonsed to face court at a later date. Investigations into the alleged assault are ongoing.
