Dog of the Week: Gus
Big Gus needs a sidekick. He’s 10 years old and while he’s been loved and a dear companion to one person, the truth is he’s lived a life of rough and tumble.
He’s a 10-year-old mastiff without a mean bone in his body. He’s used to being “on duty” or being the ever-reliable buddy to his owner. His previous owner has made the decision to surrender Gus to us, as he is no longer able to care for him.
So we’re here trying to find Gus a new buddy – a soul mate who Gus can knock about with, to go on adventures and spend life together. Gus walks well on a lead and obeys commands like sit – especially for a treat. Once he bonds with his owner, he’ll be the most loyal and best friend you could ever wish for.
Gus is certainly friendly enough to be around a family and children but honestly, it’s not really his thing. He needs a quiet, stable home with good routines. You’ll love Gus, just you wait and see.

Cat of the Week: Paris
Sweet Paris is only three years old and quite frankly, she needs a break. Truthfully she’s been adopted twice already as well as given birth to a litter of kittens. Now it’s her turn to be doted on.
She’s not mischievous or problematic, although she may or may not have scrambled up the fly screen in one of her adventures outside of the shelter. But she’s a great cat with lots of love to give.
We’ve seen her loving the glow of warm sunlight on her as she dozes away but also – and this is a bit fun – she loves water! Yes, while most cats use their water bowl to hydrate, Paris sees it as the best toy going around.
Come and meet Paris, she’s too sweet and pretty to be at our shelter. We’d love to see her in a new home where she can relax and really start to enjoy life.
Pawnotes: On Wednesday this week our vet clinic desexed 15 puppies in one day, so it goes without saying we now have lots of puppies looking for adoption.
Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick Street, Weston and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!
