A fitting memorial for Steve Pratt

Steve Pratt, the scourge of street art has at least been fittingly memorialised as his political career comes to a close.

Perhaps E.L.K can be commissioned/requested/persuaded to paint a RiotACT mural in a suitable location?

Not sure how you’d paint a large group of anonymous Canberran’s contributing to a website but his artistic talents and imagination are obviously significantly greater than mine.

I like that idea, David at the prison, witty! This kind of public art is what I think most people would support, over piles of industrial left-overs on roadsides. It’s excellent.

Cheers E.L.K. I look forward to seeing your proposed work at the Kambah underpass soon! The theme you propose is pure ‘GOLD’.

BTW, on the legitimacy of aerosol art just look at the US air force. I’m reliably informed that for many years post WWII, they banned nose-art on aircraft. In the early 90’s they reversed this policy and actively recruited talented aerosol artists to start painting aircraft again.

Hey BerraBoy68,

Personally I too hate tagging, I also hate being referred to as a “graffiti artist”.

I have a lot of respect for graffiti writers, some are extremely talented people, some not so who give aerosol art of all forms the bad reputation I am trying to disassociate from and makes people like steve pratt think he actually has a say in the matter.

The piece itself was not malicious in any way, Just trying to put across the message that Mr. Pratt is gone but street art continues to grow.

Cheers mate, I’ll check out that underpass soon (i’m thinking maybe Stanhope, unveiling Michelangelos David, at the new prison?)

Personally I hate graffiti (tagging) as it looks dirty, is pointless etc .but what you did here is, I believe, a great piece of engaging art. More please! Oh,and feel free to start with the underpass under Drakeford Drive (just before the Kambah servo).
