Will someone do us a community service and dump nuclear waste at the grounds of Foreshore?
What a nightmarish combination of the most uninteresting electronic music being triggered for hordes of the worst people Canberrra has to offer. The kind of soulless mongloids you’d find working in Parliament and sippin’ down AIDS medicine out the back of Knightsbridge Penthouse.
At least the city will be cleaned out of a few less slack-jawed ‘retro’ halfwits.
Why and what do you listen to? … Chances are that people on here would like to drop a nuke on them too!
I will definitely be heading to the Oxfam fair… thanks for the heads up folks! I would love to do Foreshore but am finally starting to feel my age at such events 🙁 am sorry the weather is being difficult for you festival lovers – but yes, we DO need the rain 🙂
This Sunday? Kosmo’s loungee electronique @ Das Kapital (Narrabundah Shops) from 3pm.
Where else woud you be Southsiders? Come and experience the sweet pleasure of Sunday afternoon cocktails, BRILLANT sounds (from local and interstate DJs – all playing their favourite chillout mixup) great food and atmosphere… kids, weird relatives (and yeah, even northsiders) are mostly welcome 🙂
There is a great community vibe growing and it SO helps you ease into the week ahead.
It helps you feel like you’ve been ‘out’, met some new interesting peeps and thus have a life, you get to hear (and even dance to) some fab new tunes… and you can do it all without writing off the entire weekend.
Perfect!
I’ve just notice the 2008 Pacific School Games are on in Canberra next week.
Something like 4,000 students are about to converge on our City and no Minister or shadow has issued a media release or encouraged us to attend?
Shame, Mr Barr, Minister for children, education, sports, tourism and recreation, Shame!

Pop The Pot at the Pot Belly Sat night.
Lots of bands, lots of beer, lots of sweat and not much room
Get there early for a seat or arrive late and sit on someone’s shoulders!
The Pot Belly vs Woodduck Inn Cricket Challenge is on this Sunday!
Come out to Hall Oval from 11am – food and booze, watching drunks playing cricket. It’ll be great 🙂
All welcome.
Oops my mistake, no “The Messenger” on Sunday – Fri and Sat this week, then Wed-Sat next week.

Awwww Eyebal… do you feel left out? Poor thing.
I’d rather not dip my toe into that wade pool of cancer.
For any stay at home types tonight (Friday) who like their jazz, tune in to Artsound FM from 8pm to 10pm to hear Jazzebells playing live in the studio, featuring Olivia Henderson, Hannah James and Rachael Thoms on ‘Friday Night Live’ with Chris Deacon and Lauren Black.
AND for those who are into their interwebs, you can watch it all here:

“Cosi”, as mentioned above. An absolutely awesome production of one of the best Australian plays. And, yes, I may be slightly biased because I’m in it 😉
Well I’m not biased, and I agree. Saw it on opening night, and it was brilliant.

Seeya there, Simbo 🙂
“After dinner” plays three more performances (Friday at 8, Saturday at 2pm and 8pm) – an australian comedy about 5 people down the pub on a Friday night looking for dinner, dancing and a chance to mingle with the opposite sex … and what goes wrong with that idea…. at the Belconnen Theatre, tickets $22, $18 concession. (personal interest – I’m in it)
“Cosi” contines for three more weeks at Canberra rep, Friday night, Sat matinee and evening, and sunday twilight at 5pm – madness, music, theatre and politics collide as a director attempts to assemble a prodction of Cosi Fan Tutte in an asylum – at Theatre 3, Acton, tickets vary in cost all over hte place depending on whether you’re going to a matinee or evening performance (personal interest – I’m operating the lighting on it next week!)
I heard the Ox-Fam Fair is on tomorrow at the Albert Hall. Anyone know what time it starts?
OFFTOPIC.
Sweet idea for an RA shirt JB. Mistake or not – good idea!
Young performers galore at Gorman House. Your choice of Canberra Youth Theatre’s “The Messenger” at 7pm Fri-Sun; or QL2 Centre for Youth Dance’s “Hot to Trot”: 6pm & 8pm Sat & Sun.
(Disclaimer: I work at Ql2 and am pretty good mates with youth theatre so don’t believe anything I say about either.)
K\Ill be at Kennedy Space Centre Fort Lauderdale Florida if anyone wants a coffee 🙂
Justthought I would say hi from cruise liner Carnival Imagination 11 miles off Mexico 🙂
Computer Fair EPIC Saturday 10AM – 2:30PM. Admission $3.00, accompanied kids free. Ha! I got it in first!
I’m for the Impro at the Street Theatre – A Christmas Carol Reinvented.

Friday: The Hottentots, Vic Farrell and David Griggs at the Merry Muse, Polish White Eagle Club in Turner. Doors 7.30pm.
A night off at the Folkus Room.
