Are the police in Canberra accountable?

It is my understanding that ACT Policing does not record a complaint unless they intend to actually do something about it.

Is there anyone out there who can either confirm or refute that please?

My advise to wonders, and maybe even yourself is that you could perhaps ask how the ACT is really run before starting to tell another that they are green

How about reporting drug pushers anonymously, what number do you call then, I would like to know so I could inform more people to report a pusher.

Basically it works like this:

Call Police – Emergency 000, non-emergency 131 444, Crimestoppers 1800 333 000- talk to an operator – if your incident is minor in nature and a patrol will not attend you still get to report your incident and a job is created – get the job number. Should a patrol attend the incident will still be recorded and a job created.

Should you talk to some random Police officer on the side of the road and they make notes in their notebook – consider the event recorded even if a job on the computer system is not created.

Pretty much most interactions with Police are recorded in some fashion. Any incident/interaction with the public or action taken by the officer can be called into question and investigated with the officer made to account for their actions.
