Hi Guys,
I have discovered some nice rust on my car around the windscreen recently and was wondering if anyone on RA could suggest someone who will do a good job on it.
Thanks in advance, as always.

Hi Paul,
If the rust is all the way through, then surely one cannot do it by himself. I have used http://www.ultimatetunes.com.au/ after recommendation from a friend.
Reliable mob who didn’t make money out of people like me who donot have detailed knowledge about such stuff.
Would surely recommend them as they are on the cheaper side as well as compared to others.

Thanks for the advice KarlV. I will see what they think it will cost.
Everyone else, the rust is pretty much through, around the windscreen.
Car is a Commodore with 179 000 km, so not really at the stage of everything else being stuffed, but then not a car that really is worth much either. Apart from the rust, the car is really tidy and roadworthy. Being an ex NSW car, it’s been scrutinised regularly and I can’t standing driving anything that’s damaged or broken.
I have owned the thing for a about 2 years now, and it doesn’t really owe me anything apart from maintenance of parts that wear and require regular maintenance, except for a window lifter and an alternator. So it’s not really worth my hassle, debt and everything else to replace it at this stage, even if I am keen on an upgrade to a wagon.
No worries! Best of luck. Hope it all works out well (and not too expensive).

What sort of car? Rust is like an iceberg, you only see a small portion of it on the surface. Getting a solid quote might be difficult so don’t expect to get out of it too cheaply.
Is the rust all the way through the metal? If just surface rust, why not doit yourself? A wire brush and sandpaper plus some bog and primerpaint will fix that.
Hi Paul,
Thanks to previous dealings from a family member and RA I found that Canberra Bodyworks in Queanbeyan was great. The staff were friendly, not as expensive as other places I obtained quotes from. They did an excellent job on my car- I was very impressed with them.

Hope this helps!
