Coffee Club at Kippax!

I for one am looking forward to finally having hot food, cold beverages and frozen dessert treats that i was lacking by driving the extra 4m27sec to Charnwood maccas from my palace.

Bout bloody time and bring back maccas delivery i say.

Coffee Club at Kippax and 24 hours Maccas – Kippax gets trendy.
Trendy? Hmmm… Trend? Yes, definitely.

Presence of Maccas and CC reflects the demography of Kippax and surrounding areas, which means there are lot of young children, teenagers, and young adults, who are the largest patrons of the said businesses.

It’s just a trend of the times. They come, and they go.

Yep. I love it.

They take orders too (particularly useful for New Years, Xmas period and that sorta thing).

Just curious, is it run by the same guy who used to sell seafood out of his van parked at the Kippax Tavern? He lost his parking spot when it closed, it’d be nice to think he was popular enough to open a proper shop.

Nope. Different lads running it. They’re very nice, good with the kids and all that. Quite solicitous – will scale and clean, fillet or whatever you require.

A tad more expensive than Woolies (but given the quality and selection on offer, that’s hardly a criticism).

I only noticed that the coffee club was opening at Kippax a couple of days ago, and I go there frequently. Just not down that end inside, unless I have a specific purpose.

As a local to the area, I really hope that the maccas and CC don’t put any of the other shops out of business. I would be sad if Mama Ria’s takeaway closed and I couldn’t get a good hamburger at Kippax anymore.

2.9km actually. I guess the thinking is there’s a market to support the new store – especially people who have stopped off at one of the supermarkets at Kippax on the way home, and hey there’s a Maccas right here, might as well just pick up dinner while I’m here. Those people are pretty unlikely to go and drive to Charnwood at the moment.

The Kippax centre really is just getting busier though – at least for some stores. A couple of the clothing stores that were there have shut down in recent times, and I’m not sure the old coffee shop next door to Coffee Club will survive against a chain. The asian grocer’s idea of a hybrid tea house / grocery store ended pretty quickly, and the tea house part vanished.

I’m just glad that the centre is growing, and not falling into neglect. Now if they could do something with the area out the back, between the centre and what used to be the health centre, it’d be even nicer – it’s wasted space at the moment.

Yay!! A new hang out for the oldies.

News of the Coffee Club opening at Kippax isn’t really “new”.

Maccas at Kippax?? Isnt there one like 200m up the road at charny or are they moving before the locals get a chance to burn it to the ground?

Mrs Neanderthalsis and I are looking at real estate in that part of the world at the moment. We were amused to see a house in Charnwood advertised as being “only minutes from the thriving Kippax shopping hub.”

This really isn’t worth commenting on… but I will anyway.

1. Coffee Club signs have been up for months – no news there.
2. Maccas sign has been up for a few weeks and it’s been clear what that corner site was going to be used for for over 12 months.
3. Maccas and Coffee Club trendy? Jaydee, c’mon get serious.
4. The new Kingston? hmmmm… a mighty long way off methinks – especially in the demographic states.

Just as it was hardly worthy of a comment, the ‘story’ was hardly worthy of a post.
